The 2025 Guanshanhu Lantern Festival and Temple Fair, held in Guanshanhu Park in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, featured a spectacular Lantern Festival gala on the evening of Feb 12. With dazzling lights and captivating performances, the festival reached a new peak of visitor enthusiasm.
The gala kicked off with a lively acrobatic performance, followed by the Duocai Xinchun (colorful Spring Festival) ethnic song and dance program, lantern shows, and theatrical performances. These showcased the unique charm of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area's traditional culture, creating a rich festive atmosphere.
This year's Guanshanhu Lantern Festival and Temple Fair featured light displays resembling Guiyang's "Nine Gates and Four Pavilions". These displays recreated the historical appearance of old Guiyang and highlighted the city's blend of historical culture and modern urban elements through modern lighting technology.
In addition to the exquisite lantern displays, the park had six light and shadow theaters. Professional actors and inheritors of intangible cultural heritage presented wonderful performances, including ethnic songs and dances, acrobatics, magic shows, and traditional Chinese New Year customs.
The park has welcomed an estimated 330,000 visits. Over 100 food stalls from Guizhou and across the country also gathered at the park, fully satisfying the taste buds of both locals and tourists.
