Guizhou Science City achieves great 2023 revenue from testing, inspection

On Oct 24, a reporter learned from the management committee of Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone that the Guizhou Science City had established a range of shared platforms for testing and inspection, achieving revenues of over 1.8 billion yuan ($251.04 million) in 2023.

In recent years, Guizhou Science City has gathered significant research and development resources, including 27 national-level and 62 provincial-level R&D platforms and two national-level and three provincial-level sci-tech incubators. The city boasts three national key laboratories, eight national enterprise technology centers, one engineering research center, two national engineering technology research centers, seven national quality inspection centers, eight post-doctoral research workstations, and one industrial design center.

Using the resources of institutes such as the Guizhou Institute of Product Quality Inspection & Testing and the Guizhou Academy of Testing and Analysis, Guizhou Science City has established seven national-level inspection centers, including the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Phosphorus and Phosphorus Chemical Products.

Guizhou Science City also hosts key research institutions, such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences Guizhou Provincial Key Laboratory of Natural Products and the Guizhou Institute of Materials Research. These institutions provide 27 service types, including shared access to large-scale instruments, phosphate ore beneficiation and analysis, polymer material quality testing, and 3D printing solutions.

Prominent enterprises like BGI branches in the Guizhou Science City offer over 400 specialized services, such as precision micro-special electric motor production, highway engineering testing, and medical diagnostics.
