In Guizhou Science City located in Guiyang city, technicians from Guizhou BGI Technology Co recently detected genetic information from test samples by using the company's independently-developed information management system, automated extraction library instruments, and bioinformatics analysis machines.
Each of the company's laboratories is equipped with two to three technicians, enabling the completion of over 10,000 sample tests per day, with an automation level of 90 percent.
Li Xiaokun, the assistant general manager of Guizhou BGI Technology Co, stated that the laboratory uses high-throughput molecular testing with automation, information technology, and intelligence to save time and labor costs in sample testing.
Since its establishment in April 2018, Guizhou BGI has conducted research and clinical testing projects in Guiyang, Zunyi, Bijie, Qianxinan, Qiandongnan, and other regions, aiming to reduce local birth defects and strengthen cancer prevention and control.
This year, Guizhou BGI is conducting research on a comprehensive disease prevention and health management technology system.
Through multi-omics testing of traditional samples such as blood, urine, and feces, and utilizing wearable devices for real-time tracking, the data is integrated into big data and intelligent models to evaluate participants' disease risks and overall health status indicators.
This experiment helps achieve precise prevention and effective disease intervention through early screening, diagnosis, and treatment, including infectious disease prevention and chronic disease management.
