Guiyang and Gui'an encouraged to deepen sci-tech innovation

Hu Zhongxiong, secretary of the CPC Guiyang Municipal Committee, led a fact-finding team from his city – which is capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – on a trip to Yangpu district of East China's Shanghai on March 18.

During the event, he emphasized the need to deepen sci-tech innovation to support the development of new quality productive forces in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area.

Located in northeastern Shanghai, Yangpu district is the largest and most populous area in the central urban area of Shanghai.

Hu's team visited the Shanghai Technology Exchange. There, he heard about the development of the exchange's business and gained detailed insights into technology transaction cases.

Later on, he urged Guiyang and Gui'an to explore the cooperation potential in the field of technology transactions with the technology exchange – and to jointly promote the transformation of sci-tech achievements.

The team also visited the GKIC Innovation and Development Demonstration Area, the core area where universities, science parks and public communities are integrated in Yangpu.

On learning about the measures undertaken in the area of technological innovation and industrial development, Hu pointed out that Guiyang and Gui'an should learn from that experience.

He said they should promote the coordinated development of Guizhou Science City, Guiyang Big Data Sci-tech Innovation City, Huaxi University Town and Qingzhen Vocational Education Town.

Hu also called for more talent employment and entrepreneurship in the four areas mentioned above in Guiyang and Gui'an.

In addition, Hu learned that a large number of high-tech enterprises had been incubated at the National Science and Technology Park of Tongji University in Yangpu.

On observing the mechanism of the operation and the use of science and technology funds, he urged the four areas mentioned above in Guiyang and Gui'an to promote the deep integration of innovation chains, industry supply chains, capital chains and talent chains to cultivate emerging industries.
