The Tsinghua-Guizhou Big Data Graduate Practice Education Base – located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has seen students actively participate in over 300 enterprise projects over the past five years.
It's estimated to have saved companies 30 million yuan ($4.2 million) and generated over 80 million yuan in additional revenue over the period.
The center, tailored to the practical needs of Guizhou's big data development, has pioneered a trilateral cooperation model of government, colleges and enterprises for talent training.
Since its establishment in 2019, it's trained more than 170 masters' degree students, engaging in over 170 collaborative projects with 38 companies.
To provide intellectual support, Tsinghua University has allowed 43 doctorate degree and master's degree student mentors to conduct over 220 technical exchanges with enterprises in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone over the past five years, involving an investment of 1.2 million yuan.
Simultaneously, Guizhou province, Guiyang city and the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone have respectively allocated special funds of 4.3 million yuan, 1 million yuan and 34 million yuan for big data development.
Moving forwards, plans are for the center to further enhance research project cooperation with enterprises and facilitate the transformation of research outcomes.
