The Guiyang bureau of science and technology was honored by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government with the title of "Advanced Unit in Promoting the Development of New Industrialization in Guizhou Province for 2021-2023" at the recently held Guizhou Provincial Conference on Advancing New Industrialization.
Over the past three years, the bureau – located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has continuously improved the quality of enterprise development and expanded the scale of its industrial sector.
Guiyang City and Guian New Area boast 1,337 high-tech enterprises, 33 national and 216 provincial specialized "little giant" enterprises, 172 provincial innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, and 126 sci-tech incubators.
The promotion of new industrialization relies on technological innovation to spur productivity, and this cannot be achieved without the support of research platforms.
Therefore, the bureau has actively participated in the reorganization of national key laboratories, constructed industrial technological innovation centers, and encouraged more innovative elements to converge in Guiyang and among Guian industries and enterprises.
Included in this list are such industries as advanced equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles, electronic information, aluminum and aluminum processing, phosphorus chemicals, ecological specialty foods, healthcare, and software information technology services.
Guiyang and Guian have built a total of six national (China) key laboratories, 55 provincial key laboratories, five national engineering and technology research centers, 97 provincial engineering and technology research centers, and 15 provincial and municipal new R&D institutions.
In addition, the bureau has attracted, trained, and retained large pools of talent, thereby contributing significant intellectual resources to promote new industrialization.
