Projects from Guiyang zone figure in top innovation list

The results for the Top 500 list of the eighth Maker China Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition – were announced at the finals of a competition on Nov 16.

Two projects from the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, made it onto the list.

The two projects were the High-speed Wireless Remote Clearing Vehicle and the R&D and Industrialization of a New Type of Wireless Laser Unidirectional Transmission Device.

The competition aimed to boost the innovation capabilities and the professional levels of SMEs. A total of 35 regional competitions, 12 special industry competitions and one overseas regional competition were held during the event.

To select more outstanding enterprises and projects from Guizhou for the competition, the province held the eighth Maker China Guizhou Provincial SMEs Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition from June to October this year, attracting nearly 400 participating projects.

These covered a wide range of fields – including next-generation information technology, new materials, new energy, medical and pharmaceuticals, industrial manufacturing and green environmental protection.

Among the top national final 500 projects, 10 were from Guizhou.
