Guiyang city sci-tech competitions wrap up

The series of events organized for the 2023 Guiyang College Students Sci-tech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and for the Huawei Developers & Kunpeng Application Innovation Guizhou Regional Competition recently concluded.

Since their launch in April, the two competitions – held in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – have garnered participation from a total of 2,120 entrepreneurial teams hailing from 175 universities across 31 regions of China.

The fields of competition spanned a wide range, encompassing sectors such as healthcare, big data software and information services, agriculture, new materials and green specialty foods.

Throughout the course of the two competitions from April to October, a raft of activities – including roadshows, online training sessions and project showcases – were held.

They provided participants with great opportunities for discovering and developing entrepreneurial ventures, as well as a platform for consolidating entrepreneurial resources.

At the same time, they lent support to the advancement of technology transfers and their commercialization.

Post-competition, the organizing committee conducted resource matching activities for projects that won awards in the competition and are being implemented in Guiyang, along with six live online interviews concerning the projects.

The activities aimed to share the experiences and achievements of the budding entrepreneurs – from contest participants to fully-fledged enterprises – encouraging the establishment of more of such projects in Guiyang city and in Guian New Area.
