Southwest China's Guizhou province hosted the third Vegetable Seed and Seedling Exhibition and Observation Activity on Sept 16, with over 100 representatives from nine cities across the province in attendance.
Representatives visited three key locations – the Guiyang Agricultural Investment Group Nanmudu Center of Breeding Vegetable Seed, Guiyang Agricultural Investment Group Nanmudu Planting Base, and Guiyang Center of Breeding Superior Vegetable Seed. During their visits, they gained in-depth insights into breeding techniques, cultivation practices, and the selection of superior seed varieties.
Seeds are the basis of the high-quality development of the vegetable industry. The Guiyang Agricultural Investment Group Nanmudu Center of Breeding Vegetable Seed has introduced smart breeding equipment, enabling digital control, precision planting, and automation. The center is equipped with eight major systems, including temperature regulation, circulation ventilation, and supplementary lighting, ensuring the quality and scale of seedling cultivation. Representatives were impressed by the standardized operational processes and acknowledged that they lay a solid foundation for agricultural production.
The Guiyang Agricultural Investment Group Nanmudu Planting Base showcased modern agricultural technology, with smart control systems within its greenhouses enabling intelligent management. Representatives showed great interest in tech and said they believed that the technology-driven modernization of agriculture is the future. They expressed their intent to apply the knowledge gained to promoting smart seedling cultivation in their local areas.
The Guiyang Center of Breeding Superior Vegetable Seed is dedicated to the research and development of vegetable grafting and high-quality seeds. Representatives said they planned to take the high-quality seeds back to their local areas for trial cultivation and promotion. These efforts were expected to stimulate the scaled development of the vegetable industry in Guizhou.
The exhibition and observation event provided valuable experiences and opportunities for promoting agricultural modernization and elevating the standards of seed-related industries. Representatives unanimously expressed their appreciation for the knowledge gained.
