Guiyang, Guian raise profile of science with the public

The launch ceremony of the main venue of the 2023 National Science Popularization Day – in Guiyang city and the nearby Guian New Area, located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – was held in Guiyang College on Sept 21. 

More than 800 representatives of teachers and students – from Guiyang College, Shuanglong Junior High School affiliated to Central China Normal University and Guiyang No 25 Middle School – participated in some great activities in the main venue.

The event in Guiyang and the Guian New Area aimed to galvanize residents to participate in activities about science popularization.

At the ceremony, students who won gold medals and other awards in the 18th Soong Ching Ling Award for Children's Invention were presented with certificates.

The event also showcased 3D printing technology and model aircraft, as well as staged the Mecha Master Competition. In addition, the audience got to know about the achievements of technological innovation through the help of volunteers who explained what was going on.

This year, Guiyang will carry out a series of promotional events and provide various forms of science popularization services for the public.
