The eighth selection and training plan for high-level innovative talent in Guizhou province was declared on Sept 11. The Guiyang bureau of science and technology is helping scientific research personnel in Guiyang City and Guian New Area to participate in the selection.
The declaration is for the "ten-talent", "hundred-talent" and "thousand-talent" program in Guizhou.
Guizhou will strive to train talent selected in the "ten-talent" part to be academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering and other national talents in the field of sci-tech; talents selected in the "hundred-talent" part will be trained to be leading talent with greater or sustained influence in research; talent selected in the "thousand-talent" part will be trained to be academic and technical leaders in related fields in the province.
Applicants to the program must have worked in Guizhou full-time for more than one year, passed their own work unit's annual assessment, and continue to work in Guiyang City and Guian New Area for at least five years.
Scientific research personnel of central enterprises and independent legal entities affiliated to provincial enterprises in Guiyang City and Guian New Area are also qualified to be recommended by Guiyang city to declare.
The deadline for declaration is 5 pm on Sept 26. Applicants shall declare on the Guizhou Science and Technology Business Integrated Management Information System, and submit the paper version of their declaration materials to the local district-level and county-level sci-tech management department or the relevant departments of the industry for review.
Applicants must also be publicized in their own work unit for no less than five workdays. Their work units need to issue recommendations for applicants and upload them to the above management system.
Talent selected in the "ten-talent", "hundred-talent" and "thousand-talent" parts, will be rewarded 1.5 million yuan ($206,287), 1 million yuan and 100,000 yuan per person, respectively, as training funds during the five-year training period.
