The "Cross-border E-commerce Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ability" contest, part of the 2023 China-Asean Education Exchange Week Vocational College skills Competition, successfully concluded on Aug 30.

The contest lasted nearly a month. Twelve teams – composed of students from Chinese vocational colleges, international students from Chinese vocational or undergraduate colleges, as well as students from vocational or undergraduate colleges in member countries of ASEAN or nations that are part of the Belt and Road Initiative – participated in the contest.

Contestants were required to choose products based on the economic characteristics of Southeast Asian countries as the target market, and make promotional posters and creative short videos based on them.

The judges scored all the teams based on their operation strategy, the performance level of their videos, and other areas. The goal was to examine the teams' skills in terms of cross-border e-commerce operations, teamwork, and innovation and entrepreneurship.

Finally, the team from Sichuan Business Vocational College won first place in the domestic group with 85.08 points, and the team from ASEAN countries triumphed in the foreign group with a score of 87.86.

"The field of cross-border e-commerce is highly competitive and challenging. The differences in culture, laws and regulations, logistics, payments and other issues in different countries need to be deeply considered and resolved," said Luo Xiangdong, vice president of Guizhou Electronic Commerce Vocational College.
