The final of the third Guiyang Veterans Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition was held at Guizhou Industry Polytechnic College in Guiyang on Aug 17, with 24 projects in the city participating.
Participating projects involve the recycling and utilization of used batteries of new energy vehicles, a "national defense education" class on campus, rural tourism, cucumber planting and more.
The final included a merging industry group, a traditional industry and life service group, and a rural vitalization group. The entries were divided into presentations and on-site defenses. Seven experts were invited to serve as judges and give scores according to the projects' innovative and social value.
In the end, the organizing committee selected one first-place prize, one second-place prize, two third-place prizes and several excellence awards for each group. The project with the highest score in each group was recommended for participating in the Guizhou provincial final.
The person in charge of the Guiyang bureau of veterans' affairs said that the bureau will continue to support entrepreneurship and innovation among veterans.
