Colleges, enterprises promote sci-tech cooperation

The second quarter of 2023 Guiyang and Guian college-city-enterprise exchange activities was held at Guizhou College of Electronic Science and Technology on June 30. Several creative projects and high-tech achievements brought by college students and enterprises were exhibited at the event.

During the presentation, Song Rong, the leader of the "Waxin Weilai" entrepreneurial team from Guizhou College of Electronic Science and Technology, shared how they were able to reduce costs and improve the quality of resin tiles. Their new formula has increased the hardness and brightness of the tiles, while still maintaining their lightweight, water resistance, and moisture resistance advantages.

After two years of exploration, the team developed and produced six new environmentally friendly resin tiles colors and submitted 16 patent applications.

The team registered a technology company in 2022, and the products have been successfully marketed and sold, with an average of no more than 100 yuan ($14) per six square meters, to ensure that farmers can afford it.

Another team from the college also introduced the core product – the Intelligent Apiaries Management System. By analyzing the wing frequency of bees, the system can effectively help farmers judge the health status of bees.

During the event held on the same day, representatives from prominent companies such as Huawei and Kaanh Intelligent shared their successful experiences in college-enterprise cooperation over the past few years. Additionally, several industry-college-research bases were awarded, and many colleges and enterprises signed cooperation agreements.

The activity aims to connect scientific research results with market demand, promote the application of results to the market, and stimulate the innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere of Guiyang and Guian.
