Two R&D platforms pocket awards in Guiyang, Guian

The awarding ceremony for the two scientific R&D platforms supported by the Guiyang and Guian "123" Plan was held on May 20.

They are, respectively, the intelligent manufacturing technology innovation center of ring forming for difficult deformable materials for airplane engines built by Guizhou Aviation Technology Development Co, and the innovation development platform of functional coordination new materials built by Guizhou Jinzhijian High-tech Materials Co.

The "1" of the "123" Plan means it offers up to 100 million yuan ($14.18 million) for research talents and teams. The "2" represents a maximum of 200 million yuan that will be provided for talents and teams to cooperate with world-renowned universities and scientific research institutes to build a sci-tech innovation platform and a sci-tech achievement transformation center in Guiyang and Guian.

The "3" means that for the industrialization of sci-tech achievements created by talents and teams, government-led funds will be the main body investing in different financing stages such as providing venture capital, private equity investment and even funds to sustain the whole life cycle, with a maximum investment of 3 billion yuan.

Relying on the two platforms, Guizhou Aviation will continue to cooperate on projects with domestic universities and research institutes such as Northwestern Polytechnical University.

Guizhou Jinzhijian will also continue to cooperate with foreign universities such as the University of Warwick in England.
