Guiyang opens sci-tech activity week

The Guiyang leg of Guizhou Science and Technology Activity Week kicked off in the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 20.

At the launch ceremony, relevant government departments issued letters of appointment for experts engaging in activities to promote and publicize science among young people; awarded flags for rural service activities on sci-tech, culture and health; honored scientific research conducted in the area; and awarded innovative platforms for recruiting talent for key industries and projects in Guiyang and Guian New Area.

Science popularization activities were held, related brochures and gift packages were distributed, and sci-tech achievements in Guizhou were also displayed.

During the week, Guiyang and Guian will carry out a series of activities, including the Guiyang leg of the "academician tour in Guizhou"; an event linked to the city's sci-tech resources; and the release of leading sci-tech achievements from the Big Data Expo 2023.

There will also be an activity held for experts in the sci-tech field on May 30, which marks National Science and Technology Workers Day; a competition for Guiyang college students' sci-tech innovation and entrepreneurship; and a light show.

In addition, the city will make efforts to infuse local colleges, communities, and enterprises with more sci-tech knowledge, and raise the public's awareness and literacy of the latest scientific developments.
