High-tech industry prospers in Guiyang, Guian

At the Guiyang and Guian New Area scientific and technological innovation conference, held in Guiyang on March 21, the total number of Guian-based high-tech enterprises in the city reached 1,337 last year, ranking first in the province, local media reported.

In February, the Ministry of Science and Technology released the "2022 Innovation Capability Evaluation Report for National Innovative Cities", showing that Guiyang's innovation capability ranked 25th in China and third among the 19 innovative cities in West China.

This year, Guiyang and Guian will further implement six innovative projects to further consolidate and improve its achievements in national innovative city construction.

More than 500 new high-tech enterprises will be newly established in Guiyang and Guian, and the municipal government will invest more than 10 billion yuan ($1.46 billion) into research and development.

Over 10 key laboratories and other research and development platforms at or above provincial level, one agricultural industry technology innovation center, and at least one crop germplasm resources research center will be established and cultivated within the two locations.

In addition, Guiyang and Guian will focus on key industries to achieve the full coverage of its industrial technology innovation center, complete the main construction of its "FAST" data processing center, and start the construction of Guizhou's scientific data center.
