Guiyang sees increase in tech contract turnover

It is reported that the turnover of technology contracts in Southwest China's Guizhou province last year maintained rapid growth. A total of 8,554 technical contracts were registered in the province, a year-on-year increase of 52.97 percent, while the turnover of technical contracts reached 39.07 billion yuan ($5.73 billion), up 35.07 percent year on year.

The turnover of technology contracts is an important indicator of regional technological innovation activity. The Guizhou Provincial Department of Science and Technology has focused on the key links in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and made every effort to promote the development of the technology market. Statistics show that Guizhou technology trade has three main characteristics.

1. Environmental protection and comprehensive utilization of resources are the main fields of technology trading. The top three technical fields of technology contract turnover are environmental protection and comprehensive utilization of resources, urban construction and social development, and electronic information.

2. Enterprises continue to maintain their position as the main body of technology transactions. A total of 5,788 technology contracts were exported, with a turnover of 33.52 billion yuan, accounting for 85.78 percent of the total turnover of technical contracts in the province.

3. Technical cooperation with other provinces has been significantly enhanced. The turnover of technology contracts exported to the province reached 27.83 billion yuan, up 17.27 percent year on year, and the turnover of technical contracts exported to other provinces was 11.24 billion yuan, up 116.37 percent year on year.
