Guiyang deepens sci-tech investment

In recent years, the Guiyang bureau of science and technology has achieved a significant increase in investment for research and development purposes.

Create a new environment for scientific & technological cooperation

In 2022, the bureau initially established its scientific and technological achievements database for universities, scientific research institutions and leading scientific and technological enterprises. It collected and shared 21,991 scientific and technological achievements – including achievements made by Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, Sichuan University, Guizhou University, Guizhou Academy of Sciences and other universities and scientific research institutions in and outside the province.

Relying on its scientific and technological innovation platform and other entrepreneurship activities, nine roadshows and achievement award activities were carried out. From these efforts, 15 enterprises and experts reached preliminary cooperation intentions.

Stimulate innovation, create new vitality for entrepreneurship

According to the data, in 2022, Guiyang and Guian New Area got approval from the Ministry of Science and Technology to set up 31 projects under the central guidance of local science and technology development groups, attaining 46.98 million yuan ($6.88 million) in financial support.

In 2022, the bureau actively guided enterprises in how to attract funding for science and technology innovation, and they achieved a total investment of 53.4 million yuan.

Build a new intelligence and empowerment highland

In 2022, the bureau implemented the "four major projects" for attracting, cultivating, employing, and retaining talents, and made every effort to gather, motivate and serve talents. Among the talents, R&D personnel in the city reached 35,000, up 7.6 percent year on year. They account for 43 percent of the province's total. 

A new academician workstation for the cooperation between the Hydropower Ninth Bureau and Academician Makjian will be built. 

A counseling service event for college students focusing on science and technology entrepreneurship was held, serving more than 6,900 people in total.

The bureau established a database for science and technology entrepreneurship for college students in the province.
