Guiyang selects people for provincial science popularization contest

The 2022 Guizhou Provincial Science Popularization and Explanation Contest Guiyang Selection Competition, hosted by the Guiyang bureau of science and technology, was recently held at the National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Experimental Zone Exhibition Center in Guiyang.

A total of 20 popular science workers from various industries, full-time and part-time popular science interpreters, and science communication enthusiasts were shortlisted.

The contestants mainly shared their knowledge of natural science and social science. The topics include aerospace, physics, environmental protection, medical care, transportation, and biology. In addition, themes such as blockchain, UHV, hydrogen energy, Guizhou golden monkey, COVID-19, and the metaverse, were randomly proposed as test questions.

After fierce competition,  three first prizes, four second prizes, five third prizes, and several excellence prizes were given out. The three contestants who won the first prize will represent Guiyang in the provincial contest.

The competition focused on rural vitalization, big data, big ecology, talent, and innovation-driven strategies, creating a strong innovation atmosphere for promoting science among the masses.
