The county-level city of Qingzhen – administered by Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – held its 2022-2023 provincial rural science and technology commissioners meeting on March 25, which marked the official start of their work during the period.
Representatives from the Guiyang bureau of science and technology, the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs and eight science and technology commissioners – as well as officials in charge of townships and villages – participated in the meeting.
In recent years, Qingzhen city has focused on agricultural technological innovation, providing a strong scientific and technological drive for its overall rural revitalization.
To date, the city has built two provincial-level agricultural sci-tech demonstration parks – the Guizhou Qingzhen Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park and the Guizhou Qingzhen Animal-Fruit-Medicine Ecological Efficient Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park.
There are eight municipal-level agricultural science and technology demonstration parks, including the Qingzhen Green Vegetable Modern and Efficient Agriculture Demonstration Park and the Qingzhen Modern High-efficiency Livestock and Grass Ecological Circulation Demonstration Park.
The Guiyang bureau of science and technology has in recent years selected 23 science and technology commissioners, to carry out technical research and technical guidance services in Qingzhen city.
They have jointly implemented 20 scientific and technological research projects, introduced more than 20 new varieties of projects and carried out technical training of more than 1,800 people.
Furthermore, more than 20 new technologies have been used in rural revitalization – which are directly serving more than 1,500 farmers and helping to drive growth in the incomes of more than 3,000 households.
Moving forwards, the bureau plans to pursue promoting rural revitalization and the in-depth implementation of agricultural modernization.
