Guiyang bureau holds talks with national key university

The leaders of the Guiyang bureau of science and technology went to Central South University – a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education – to collect information and hold talks on Feb 25, with the university heads afterwards attending a symposium.

Zhang Yu, director of the bureau, gave a briefing about the current situation regarding scientific and technological innovation in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province. Guiyang is currently said to be doing its best in key areas of innovation, to promote the high-quality development of related industries.

Other senior bureau staff members gave talks on top enterprises in the aluminum-based new materials industry and leading enterprises in the phosphorus chemicals industry in Guiyang.

Management and professors from the School of Materials Science and Engineering – as well as the School of Metallurgical Science and Engineering, the School of Earth Science and Information Physics, and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of the university – discussed the disciplinary characteristics and key scientific research achievements of their respective schools.

The bureau's Zhang said the university's achievements in mining, metallurgy, alloy and in other fields were consistent with Guiyang's established phosphorous and aluminum industry.

Afterwards, the two sides held more talks on topics such as the future direction of city-school cooperation and cooperation methods.
