Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently held several large events for its aluminum and aluminum processing industry.
The first 2022 batch of key industrial projects in the city's aluminum industry started construction in Qingzhen, a county-level city under Guiyang's administration, on Jan 15.
The two projects of Guizhou Guilyu New Materials Co and Galuminium Group Co started the same day.
The project of Guizhou Guilyu New Materials Co in Wangzhuang township includes five aluminum foil production lines, aluminum foil production workshops, a rolling oil depot, a compressed air station, and related power and transport infrastructures. The project is scheduled to be completed and begin operating in October 2022, and the annual output of the project is expected to reach 800 million yuan ($125.95 million).
The project of Galuminium Group Co includes 39 production lines for gallium metal with an estimated annual output of 40 metric tons. It is expected to begin production in July 2022, and its annual output is expected to reach 100 million yuan.

The Guiyang Aluminum Industry Association was founded a day later in the city's Baiyun district.
At the conference, Guizhou Guicai Innovation Technology Co signed cooperation agreements with Guizhou Guilyu New Materials Co and the Guiyang Aluminum Industry Technology Innovation Center.
Since 1958, Guiyang has gradually become one of the most important aluminum industry bases in the province. A number of industrial leaders, such as Guizhou Huaren New Materials Co and Guizhou Chalco Aluminium Co, have emerged.
For the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the city will further develop the aluminum and aluminum processing industry to realize 50 billion yuan in output by the end of 2025.
