An employment, entrepreneurship promotion campaign was initiated by Guiyang city and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Dec 27 at Guizhou Institute of Technology.
The event was undertaken by the Guiyang bureau of science and technology. It was attended by other departments in charge of Guiyang's education, industry, human resources and big data work and the audience was addressed by Su Xiangdong, president of the institute.
The campaign is reportedly designed to get more college graduates acquainted with Guiyang and Guian's jobs-related information and policies on starting up new businesses.
Some 10 leading companies in information technology, aluminum processing, equipment manufacturing and other fields were selected as the institute's practical training bases at the launch.
A total of 1,168 positions were on offer to college graduates and 1,378 resumes were submitted, with 309 students reaching preliminary employment agreements.
