Guiyang to open high tech new airport terminal

Longdongbao International Airport's newly-constructed Terminal 3 is currently running trial operations and will officially be put into use on Dec 15.

Located in Guiyang, Guizhou province, the Terminal 3 project is the province's first intelligent airport terminal. It will allow passengers to check in their luggage by scanning their ID cards, and pass through security by simply scanning their faces.

With 16 self-check-in machines, passengers can drop off their luggage and print their boarding passes and baggage receipts from 45 minutes to 8 hours before their flight.

The check-in process will take about 3 minutes, after which passengers can pass through either the manual security checks or self-security checks before boarding their flight.

If their destination has special COVID-19 requirements, passengers can check in at the counters.
