Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has taken a series of measures to speed up the coverage of 5G base stations and strengthen the application of 5G technology.
The county set up a special work team to facilitate the construction of a 5G communications network. A total of 438 5G base stations have been set up, among which 177 were built in 2021.
5G technology has been applied in multiple different scenarios. The Guizhou Tire 5G All-Round-Connected Factory has begun operating, realized a sales revenue of more than 100 million yuan ($15.6 million), and generated 6 million yuan in benefits.
The first phase of the Intelligent Agriculture Product Retail Could Platform has been completed as well, and will consist of one 5G base station to help manage parks in an intelligent manner.
5G has helped the county upgrade its communications network, and Xiuwen has prioritized the construction of 5G-related base stations, pylons, and machine rooms.
China Mobile and the National Radio and Television Administration jointly promoted the construction and operation of dual-band 5G base stations of 700 megahertz + 2.6 gigahertz, extending 5G network coverage to industrial parks and rural areas in the county.
