Guiyang sci-tech bureau contributes to rural revitalization efforts

Guiyang Bureau of Science and Technology recently set up an "applying science and technology to help rural revitalization" workgroup to help promote agricultural modernization in Guiyang city. The group consists of the main leaders from the bureau.

Since the group's establishment, members have made efforts to find difficulties in agricultural production and explore new industrial opportunities for rural revitalization.

Group members visited the Guizhou Institute of Technology, Guizhou University Science Park, Guizhou's mountain agricultural machinery society and other entities to learn about product development, marketing models, company operation and management.

Zhang Yu, director of the bureau, said that scientific research institutions and enterprises are important platforms and carriers for agricultural industry innovation. He said he hopes that they will further increase innovation, promote the development and testing of mountain agricultural equipment, accelerate technological breakthroughs and enhance the transformation of achievements.

R&D teams should integrate the actual conditions of Guiyang and Guizhou, tackle difficulties in agricultural production and develop more inventions to help increase labor productivity, reduce production costs and improve the level of agricultural mechanization, he added.

The workgroup's members also visited Guizhou's mountain characteristic agricultural machinery and equipment industrial park in Xiuwen county, promising sci-tech support for its construction.

They will also visit Kaiyang, Xifeng, Qingzhen and other places in Guiyang to conduct a survey and make plans to help rural revitalization.
