AVIC Guiyang Wanjiang Aviation Electromechanical Co Ltd, a company based in Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has attached great importance to intelligent manufacturing in new industrialization, according to local media reports.

The company, a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), was one of the earliest companies in China to develop and supply auto parts. It was also the first company to realize the localization of Santana car wipers and window regulators.

The firm has been committed to the research, development and manufacturing of auto parts for nearly 40 years. Its products mainly include electric wipers and window regulators.

It launched a robot processing unit on April 1, achieving intelligent operations throughout the entire production process and increasing production efficiency by more than 10 percent. Four more similar units are also in preparation.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), the company investigated intelligent manufacturing and invested 220 million yuan ($33.90 million) in the field.

It has upgraded its wiper production technology four times, reducing the size of the motor by 10 percent and the weight by 18 percent.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the company will continue to highlight intelligent manufacturing reform. It will also invest more in intelligence and digitization to empower new industrialization, according to Jin Zhiqiang, a director of the company.
