Officials survey innovation work in Guiyang development zone

A delegation led by Zhang Yu, head of the Guiyang Bureau of Science and Technology, visited Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone on Jan 13 to learn more about its scientific and technological innovation efforts. The development zone is in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

They visited the construction sites for the zone's hydrogen energy industry project and cable production project and were introduced to its planning of the hydrogen energy industry cluster. The delegation also talked in detail with officials about difficulties and problems facing the zone.

During a meeting, representatives from the science and technology and entrepreneurship service center of the development zone briefed the delegation on the zone's scientific and technological innovation work.

Zhang said that in recent years, the zone has achieved a lot in terms of innovation. It is now building a hydrogen energy industry cluster and offering supportive measures and guidance for enterprises to promote innovation.

For future scientific and technological innovation work, Zhang advised the zone in three aspects: strengthening innovation responsibilities, expanding innovation ways and measures and increasing innovation platforms and carriers.

The science and technology bureau will give full support to the zone's construction of the hydrogen energy industry cluster and offer support for related technological breakthroughs. The bureau will also help the zone's application to the province's hydrogen energy and hydrogen fuel cell research and application engineering research center.

Zhang added that the intention is to serve and promote the high-quality development of the city's hydrogen energy industry.
