This year's Big Data Expo is being held online and offline due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. The highly anticipated event includes a release conference for cutting-edge big data technologies and products at the Guizhou Big Data Exhibition Center in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

A core area of Guizhou's national big data pilot area, Guiyang has successfully held the Big Data Expo for half a decade. After five years of development, Guiyang's information technology service industry cluster has become a national strategic emerging industry cluster.

Last year, Guiyang completed 25 big data integration pilot projects and 308 demonstration projects. More than 80 percent of companies with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($3.04 million) started to use cloud service platforms.

During the global communication campaign for this year's Big Data Expo, the exhibition center released theoretical and technological achievements to showcase Guizhou's innovation experience in big data.

As a hub city in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Guiyang promotes opening-up by introducing its high-tech products to overseas markets. The city is also working on grasping the opportunities brought by the prosperous border trade.

Since its establishment in 2014, the center has received more than 200,000 visitors to see Guizhou's big data industry development.

In the future, Guizhou's contribution to the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor will also be recorded in the center, said Wang Zhu, deputy director of Guizhou Big Data Exhibition Center.
