Huaxi celebrates harvest with singing and dancing

Sept 23, 2023 marked the sixth Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival. On the day, Gaopo township in Huaxi district organized an activity with captivating song and dance performances to celebrate the harvest.

During the event, local villagers dressed in traditional ethnic costumes sang and danced, offering visitors a memorable experience. As night fell, villagers and visitors sat together for a local traditional "long-table banquet".

After the dinner, the long-awaited Miao ethnic traditional harvest asparagus dance performance and bonfire party began. Villagers and visitors held hands around the bonfire, dancing and cheering to the rhythm of the asparagus as a way to express the joy of a good harvest and excitement for the next harvest.

The event marks the township's first harvest-festival-related activity and is intended to showcase local achievements in agricultural development, promote traditional Chinese farming culture, and boost the township's tourism development. It will last until National Day.
