Huaxi makes efforts to boost employment

Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has recently been making efforts to promote employment through a local gig market which started operating a month ago.

The gig market, jointly built by the Huaxi human resources and social security bureau and Guizhou Bole Cloud Human Resources Co, provides a public platform and practical employment services for enterprises and job seekers.

In the past, obtaining valid employment information was the most significant hurdle for those seeking odd jobs. Now, the gig market is set to provide job seekers with employment information on-site and online.

The gig market is also set to provide skills training in line with the market demand for job seekers.

In addition, as guaranteed by the bureau, the gig market has resolved the issue of irregular labor relations regarding odd jobs leading to encroachments on job seekers' rights and interests, such as random dismissal and wage withholding.

To date, the gig market has integrated the recruitment and employment information of more than 30 enterprises and posted over 120 jobs, offering more than 160 job seekers a daily salary of about 100 to 200 yuan ($27.74).

Huaxi is currently publicizing the gig market so that more job seekers can understand and benefit from the platform. The district will also strengthen its supervision to the market and provide job seekers with more services related to policy consultation, vocational training, and labor rights protection.
