Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently unveiled its first gig market, which fills the gap of a standardized gig market in the district by providing a public platform and practical employment services for enterprises and job seekers.
Under the guidance of the relevant departments, the gig market was jointly built by the Huaxi human resources and social security bureau and Guizhou Bole Cloud Human Resources Co.
In the past, obtaining valid employment information was the most significant difficulty for taking odd jobs. Now, the gig market is set to provide job seekers with employment information on-site and online.
On the 9th floor of the district's government service center, a large screen is set to post odd jobs continuously. So far, 120 odd jobs have been posted to service 150 job seekers.

An associated online platform has also provided high-quality jobs, including daily and weekly jobs, enabling job seekers to hunt jobs and contact recruiters through the use of their mobile phones. As of now, more than 1,000 jobs have been posted online.
In addition, as guaranteed by the bureau, the gig market has resolved the issue that the irregular labor relations of odd jobs led to encroaching on job seekers' rights and interests, such as random dismissal and wage arrears.
The bureau will strengthen its supervision of the gig market and provide job seekers with more services related to policy consultation, vocational training, and labor rights protection.
