Youth science innovation contest held in Huaxi

The Huaxi district branch of the 9th National Youth Science Innovation Experiment and Works Competition was held in the district of Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 6.

The event was co-hosted by the Huaxi Science and Technology Association, the district's education bureau and the Communist Youth League of China Huaxi Committee. A total of 100 teams from five middle schools in Huaxi district participated.

Based on the themes of wisdom, safety and environmental protection, the competition required participants to consider the problems and technical difficulties that future space vehicles may encounter. They were then asked to put forward solutions, and design and create space vehicle models capable of surmounting various obstacles of different types and heights. 

The district branch pocketed the first, second and third prizes, as well as the excellent instructor award and the excellent organization award. In the wake of the competition, the organizer will recommend outstanding teams to participate in the city-level competition in Guiyang, according to the results.
