The government of Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will further improve local people's well-being in 2023 by implementing measures in 10 aspects.
These include employment and income growth, education, health care, transportation, living environment, convenient services, culture and sports, senior care and public safety.
For instance, this year, Huaxi aims to help 13,400 people find employment in urban areas.
In regards to education, the district will newly build and renovate four kindergartens, primary and middle schools in the current year.
Huaxi will conduct a tuberculosis and cataracts screening for local senior residents aged 65 and above, and a tuberculosis screening for junior high school and above school-age students. It will also offer one free physical examination to each senior citizen aged 65 and above.
In addition, one district-level medical sub-center and seven smart health first-aid stations will be built this year.
The district will add 2,240 new public parking spaces, connect two impassable road sections and open school bus routes for rural areas.
In terms of improving the living environment, Huaxi will upgrade one domestic waste transfer station and sorting center, renovate eight back streets and alleys, complete renovations on 7,848 residences in old communities, reconstruct 109 rural household toilets and build more public toilets in rural areas.
The district plans to build one new farmers' market, one fresh food supermarket, a 15-minute government service circle, and 16 service stations for the convenience of citizens.
Huaxi is expected to build two public study rooms, complete 26 public sports projects, and add five community-level elderly care service facilities within the year.
Huaxi will also upgrade equipment and improve the skills of one professional fire and rescue team, add 80 hydrants around the district, and renovate 0.3 kilometers of old municipal gas pipe network and domestic pipelines.
