The second session of the 18th Huaxi District People's Congress convened on Feb 15 in Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, with 212 deputies attending.
Yu Yang, head of the Huaxi government, delivered the district's government work report, which stated the achievements made in 2022 as well as new targets for local development in 2023.
In the report, Yu summarized the achievements made in Huaxi's socioeconomic development in terms of industry, innovation, ecology, culture, tourism, rural vitalization, talent and people's living standards.
The district government's work report set new economic targets for Huaxi in 2023: the growth in GDP, added value of industries above designated size, investment in fixed assets, total retail sales of consumer goods, and general public budget revenue will be over 7 percent, 9 percent, 7 percent, 8 percent, and 6 percent, respectively.
The per capita disposable income of urban and rural permanent residents in the district will increase 7 percent and 9 percent, respectively.
Deputies present at the session examined the reports on the overall budget revenue of Huaxi in 2022 and the draft budget for 2023 and reviewed how the 2022 national economic and social development plan was implemented by the Huaxi government as well as the 2023 national economic and social development draft plan.
In addition, they voted and passed the election measures for the second session of the 18th Huaxi District People's Congress.
