Documentary on Xu Xiake's trip to Huaxi premieres

A 10-episode cultural documentary series entitled "Huaxi Story • Xu Xiake's Journey" premiered online on Jan 6.

Xu Xiake (1587-1641), a native of Jiangyin in East China's Jiangsu province, was a geographer, traveler and literary scholar in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). He spent 40 years recording his journey across China. In 1638, the 51-year-old Xu arrived in Southwest China's Guizhou province and left an approximately-35,000-word record of his time in the province. 

The documentary focuses on Xu's trip in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province. 

The documentary, produced by the district authority, totals 100 minutes, with each episode being 10 min long and showcasing Huaxi's beautiful natural scenery, unique ecosystems, and rich history and culture. 

New episode will air once a week on multiple video and social networking platforms such as Ximalaya, Tencent Video, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Sina Weibo, Ctrip Travel, and YouTube.
