The Global Big Data Exchange – situated in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – on Aug 19 signed an important agreement with the Shenzhen Data Exchange, in South China's Guangdong province, that is designed to boost their digital economies.
Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been implementing the big data strategic action and stimulating the market with digital technology development. It has become the city with the most big data pilot and demonstration projects in China.
Grasping the opportunities brought by the ongoing Eastern Data and Western Computing project – China's ambitious plans to build a network of data center hubs to address information infrastructure imbalances between the east and west of the country – Guiyang city and Guian New Area have acted.
During the first half of this year, expansion of digital new infrastructure in Guiyang and the nearby Guian New Area accelerated appreciably, and the sector was widely said to have enjoyed robust development.

During the first half of this year, the business revenue of Guiyang and Guian's software and information technology service industry – those with an annual business revenue of more than 5 million yuan ($739,290.76) – was 31.83 billion yuan.
