The Promotion Conference on Culture and Tourism of Cool Guiyang was held in Seoul, South Korea on Nov 28. During the event, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, showcased its rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and tourist routes, while signing strategic cooperation agreements with South Korea.
Hu Zhongxiong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Guiyang Municipal Committee, and Niu Liqiang, counselor from the Chinese Embassy in South Korea, jointly launched Guiyang Culture and Tourism Promotion Week. Designed to improving Guiyang's international profile and cultural influence through exchange and cooperation, the event spotlighted the city's unique cultural and tourism assets, fostering greater awareness and interest in Guiyang among South Korean visitors.
This year marks the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China and South Korea, and has been a major year for cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries. As China's visa-free policy for South Korean citizens took effect and group tours to South Korea resumed, both countries have leveraged their cultural and tourism offerings to strengthen interactions. This renewed enthusiasm for mutual travel has led to a trend of "two-way tourism" between the two countries.
To attract more South Korean visitors to Guiyang and improve their travel experiences, the event also unveiled the Korean edition of the "Guiyang International Official Guide". This guide offers tailored recommendations, covering history, culture, transportation, climate, cuisine, accommodations, attractions, and themed travel routes, enabling South Korean tourists to enjoy immersive experiences in Guiyang.
