The 2024 Guiyang and Gui'an Road Cycling Race commenced on Nov 30 at Yunmanhu Park in Gui'an New Area, attracting over 800 participants from across China, including Beijing, Chongqing, Shandong, Hubei, Zhejiang, and Fujian.
As part of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area's extensive fitness-for-all initiative, the race aimed to inspire greater public enthusiasm for sports, build a more advanced public fitness service system, and promote fitness and health across the region.
The race featured five categories: Men's Road Elite (56 kilometers), Men's and Women's Road Open (48 km), Youth (24 km), and Mass (8 km). It was held in a circuit format around Yunman Lake, where both the start and finish lines were set. Each lap spanned 8 km and offered participants scenic views of Gui'an's picturesque landscapes.
In recent years, Gui'an has hosted a series of trendy and dynamic sports events, showcasing the area's vibrant spirit and energizing spectators. Moving forward, Gui'an plans to roll out more diverse sporting events to further ignite public interest in physical activities, enhance its public fitness service systems, and advance the goals of promoting regional fitness and health.
