The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) Institute for New Medicine recently signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with the Guizhou Science City Service Center and Guizhou Science and Technology Innovation Center Co, officially launching its Southwest China branch in Guizhou Science City, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Under this agreement, the Southwest China branch of the CUHK-Shenzhen Institute for New Medicine will capitalize on Guizhou's abundant natural resources and the strategic benefits of East-West cooperation. The aim is to integrate resources and establish synergy among enterprises, universities and research institutions to accelerate the transformation of Guizhou's under-forest economy into a modern bio-economy.
Moving forward, CUHK-Shenzhen will support talent cultivation and industrial upgrading in Guizhou through initiatives such as the joint-establishment of collaborative laboratories, cooperative science research projects, and academic exchanges.
Guizhou is currently at a pivotal stage of technological innovation and industrial transformation, with a growing demand for high-level scientific talent and science research resources. CUHK-Shenzhen, with its abundant resources and advanced experience, is well-positioned to drive this cooperation.
As a hub for technological innovation in Guizhou, Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) is focusing on fostering industrial innovation and technology incubation. With CUHK-Shenzhen's continuous science research advancements in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the partnership between the two parties is built on a solid foundation of scientific and technological innovation.
Guiyang HIDZ will collaborate closely with the CUHK-Shenzhen in areas such as technology application, industry incubation and innovative talent cultivation, accelerating the commercialization of research outcomes. The collaboration, underpinned by an efficient government-university-enterprise partnership model, will further drive the development of high-tech industries in Guizhou.
