Guiyang tourism surges during Qingming Festival holiday

According to Chinese online travel agency Ctrip on April 6, during the Qingming Festival holiday from April 4 to 6, the number of bookings related to tourism in Guiyang increased by 87 percent year-on-year, while number of tickets to attractions across Guiyang rose by 160 percent year-on-year.

The main sources of tourists in Guiyang were Chongqing, Chengdu, Zunyi, Beijing, and Shenzhen. While Guiyang residents preferred traveling to Chongqing, Bijie, Zunyi, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, and Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture.

Ctrip's summary on travel during the 2024 Qingming Festival holiday period revealed that rural micro-tourism was on the rise, with rural travel tours growing by 239 percent year-on-year. The number of tickets to national museums and zoos also increased by 74 percent and 649 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Ticket sales to flower-viewing attractions saw a 391-percent year-on-year growth. Parks also became popular travel destinations, with searches for park attractions on Ctrip increasing by over 30 percent year-on-year.
