According to Guiyang Meteorological Bureau's cherry blossom flowering period forecast on Feb 21, it is expected that this year, the initial flowering period for cherry blossoms in Gui'an Cherry Blossom Park in Southwest China's Guizhou province will be from March 11 to 15, and their full bloom period will be from March 15 to 23.

The timings for both bloom periods are expected to be similar to previous years.

The cherry blossom viewing period in Gui'an Cherry Blossom Park is around 18 days. Currently, the cherry blossoms have not yet bloomed, however, people can keep up to date with the latest flowering period forecasts via the park's official accounts on WeChat, Xiaohongshu and Douyin.

Cherry trees are very sensitive to changes in temperature. They go into dormancy when the daily average temperature is below 5 C and start to sprout when the temperature is around 10 C. The sprouting period lasts approximately 28 days, with the fastest growth of new shoots occurring at temperatures above 20 C.

Given the recent temperature fluctuations, the Guiyang Meteorological Bureau reminds visitors to pay attention to weather forecasts and blossom predictions, and to plan their flower viewing time and routes accordingly.

As the flowering period approaches, the meteorological bureau will continue to monitor and make adjustments to the forecasts using the weather monitoring facilities that have been set up in the park.

Gui'an Cherry Blossom Park has been planting cherry trees for 22 years and now boasts over 700,000 cherry tree seedlings. The garden mainly consists of early and late cherry tree planting areas, as well as over 130 different cherry tree varieties in nurseries.

The core scenic area in the park currently includes an observation deck, Fanying Square, and Manying Garden. The beautiful cherry trees that have been planted by the water have earned the park a reputation of being the "best cherry blossom viewing spot in Guizhou".

After two years of software and hardware upgrades, the park has launched multiple routes specifically tailored for group visitors in 2024. It has also optimized its entrance and exit routes to improve visitor flow efficiency, and added several specialty service areas to enhance the cherry blossom viewing experience.

Additionally, the park has implemented specialized services catering to the varying needs of different customer groups, such as families-friendly leisure spaces, trendy spots for young people, cherry blossom viewing sites for senior citizens, as well as sightseeing routes for tourists from both inside and outside the province.

In addition to the cherry blossom viewing areas like the observation deck and Fanying Square, the park has also developed new areas, such as an amusement park and an ecological park.
