Gui'an Data Center Cluster ranks first nationally for computing power assurance

The Guizhou Academy of Social Sciences released the "computing power assurance report on the 'channeling computing resources from the east to the west project' (2023)" and the computing power assurance index of this project on Dec 19.

This is a significant milestone for research on important issues related to seizing new opportunities in the implementation of the digital economy strategy.

According to the calculation results, the computing power assurance index of the Gui'an Data Center Cluster ranks first among the 10 data center clusters nationwide, with its most significant advantage being its natural environment.

The computing power assurance report analyzes computing power assurance, major measures to enhance computing power assurance, the development of a computing power assurance evaluation system, analysis of computing power assurance capabilities, existing problems, and recommendations for improving computing power assurance.

According to the results, the Gui'an Data Center Cluster excels in terms of natural environment, including temperature difference, air quality, and distance to major cities.

The ideal temperature for data centers is generally between 20 C and 25 C. In Gui'an, temperatures exceed 25 C only in July and August, giving it the best climate of the top 10 clusters.

Furthermore, excessive concentrations of sand and corrosive gases can affect the lifespan of equipment and potentially cause system failures. In 2022, Gui'an had the best air quality index among the top 10 clusters, with a comprehensive score of 2.53.

The Gui'an Data Center Cluster also has advantages in terms of policy guarantees and other aspects.

The release of the computing power assurance report and the subsequent in-depth research are expected to highlight Guizhou's comparative advantage in developing a computing power economy and enhance the province's digital economy research capabilities.

It is also expected to increase the influence of research institutions and the media, foster consensus on digital economic development, and create a favorable atmosphere for the development of the digital economy.
