Guiyang and Guian publish ecology news conference

Guiyang City and Guian New Area held an ecology news conference on Oct 12, aimed at presenting the latest developments in environmental protection and green economic development in the two regions. Chen Ming, deputy director of the Guiyang Bureau of Ecology and Environment, provided a detailed update on the progress of two major objectives at the news conference.

Firstly, Guiyang City and Guian New Area are committed to reducing energy consumption per unit of regional GDP. To achieve this goal, the two regions have formulated and implemented the "Comprehensive Action Plan for Energy Saving and Emissions Reduction in Guiyang and Guian during 14th Five-Year Period (2021-25)". This plan focuses on 10 actions such as promoting the green upgrading of key industries, carrying out energy-saving initiatives in urban areas, and reducing emissions in transportation and logistics.

Secondly, Guiyang and Guian are dedicated to increasing the proportion of the green economy within the total regional GDP. The two regions have issued the "Implementation Plan for Promoting High-Quality Economic and Social Development with Green Economy leading in Guiyang and Guian" along with implementation plans for various sectors. Furthermore, by optimizing the green economy project library, they have advanced the implementation of related projects, accelerating the development of the green economy.

During the conference, Chen also mentioned measures taken by Guiyang City and Guian New Area in the fields of green production, green consumption, green living, and green civilization.

In 2023, 529,000 metric tons of green agricultural products valued at 6.5 billion yuan have been sold through the two regions' main wholesale and retail channels.
