Phase 1 of Guiyang Metro Line 3 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently commenced its empty-load trial run, marking the countdown to the start of full operations.

An empty-load trial run is a necessary step before the opening of a railway line. It tests the line's construction quality, organization plan, regulations, and departmental cooperation to determine if they meet operational requirements.

The trial run, which will last for three months, will focus on key indicators such as ensuring trains run on time and stick to their schedule. Experts will also examine the operating status of critical systems including vehicles, signals, communications, power supply, and electromechanical systems. During this period, no tickets will be sold and passengers will not be able to board any of the trains.

The trial run aims to simulate real operating conditions as much as possible, while repeatedly verifying and refining the safety, usability, and reliability of the system, and testing and enhancing the emergency response capabilities of the operating staff members.

Guiyang Metro Line 3 is due to officially open to the public by the end of this year.
