During the May Day holiday, which lasted from April 29 to May 3 this year, Guizhou's provincial capital Guiyang received 7.85 million visits, with 2.26 million at its 45 key scenic spots, including a historical high of around 460,000 visits to Qianlingshan Park.

Statistics show that Guiyang ranks 8th in China for "foodie travel" and "nearby travel" and 15th among popular cities in China. Guizhou Polar Ocean World, Qingyan Ancient Town, and Guiyang Happy World made the top 10 list of popular attractions across the province during the May Day holiday as chosen by Chinese travel service provider Ctrip.

To help promote tourism during the holiday, Guiyang conducted marketing activities through early publicity. This year's May Day holiday was characterized by Guiyang's youthfulness, regional characteristics, and integration of culture and tourism.

The statistics indicate that more than 60 percent of overnight tourists in Guiyang during the May Day holiday were born in the 1990s or 2000s, making this group the backbone of Guiyang's tourism industry.

To meet the needs of young people, Guiyang tailored a series of "youthful" activities and events. For example, the S-II Starry Music Festival held in the Guanshanhu district on May 1 and 2 attracted over 30,000 participants and more than 1 million clicks online.

As the city advances, Guiyang will continue to tap into the potential of unique and diversified resources to promote tourism products and service innovation while showcasing its charm in its summer peak season.
