Guiyang, the Philippines' Parañaque city to establish sister-city relations

Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed a letter of intent with Parañaque city in the Philippines to establish sister-city relations.

According to the letter, both cities will further enhance cooperation in commerce, education, tourism, environmental protection, big data and city planning.

They will encourage companies, universities, think tanks, media outlets and other institutions in both cities to carry out exchanges.

Parañaque is located 20 kilometers away from the Philippines' capital Manila and covers a total area of 50 square kilometers, with a population of about 690,000 and a per capita GDP of about $14,000.

It has 16 districts and is a key commerce and trading center in the Philippines, with its economic and social development level ranking fifth in the country.

Guiyang currently has close partnerships or sister-city relationships with 22 cities. In the future, it will further expand relations with more international cities and enhance cooperation with ASEAN countries and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
