The launch ceremony of China's Foreign Affairs (2020) was held on Nov 11 in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The event was jointly arranged by the Policy Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province.

Zheng Liqiao, deputy director-general of the department, addressed the ceremony and said that China's foreign affairs while fighting COVID-19 could be summarized by five features: playing the lead, conducting cooperation, fighting the epidemic, being responsible and people-oriented policies.

Zheng said that China would continue adhering to the principles of peace, development and win-win cooperation while conducting foreign affairs. The nation will also promote creating a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for humanity, and bring about a diplomatic situation with Chinese characteristics.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will exert its advantages of overseas embassies and consulates worldwide to help Guizhou and other regions in China develop the economy and international cooperation.

Chen Li, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province, also made a speech at the ceremony. He said that to launch China's Foreign Affairs in Guizhou demonstrated diplomatic support for local development and local foreign affairs. He added that Guizhou would forge ahead in foreign affairs to make more contributions to local development.

Initially issued in 1987 and edited by the Policy Planning Department, China's Foreign Affairs is a monograph about China's opinions on the international situation. It systematically introduces China's diplomatic practice in the previous year and authoritatively interprets China's diplomatic policies.
