During the third China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will be held in East China's Shanghai municipality on Nov 5-10, Southwest China's Guizhou province will purchase 64 import projects with a total transaction amount of more than $700 million.
These projects will involve medical and technical equipment, consumer goods, agricultural products, natural rubber, ore and the service trade.
Guizhou will also sign 43 investment projects with a total investment of 46.4 billion yuan ($6.91 billion), covering manufacturing, big data, biopharmaceuticals, agricultural product processing and business services.
This year, Guizhou will continue to hold a trade and commerce exchange meeting inviting overseas representatives of international business organizations, chambers of commerce and transnational corporations as guests.
According to the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce, the number of important guests, the investment scale and the total trade volume of this year's exchange meeting are significantly larger than previous ones.
Instead of attracting investment, Guizhou will focus on attracting technology and will introduce France-based high-tech company Dassault Systemes' products for the first time to boost the industrial transformation and upgrading of the province.
During the expo, Guizhou's business delegation will encourage companies to engage with overseas exhibitors and carry out trade negotiations.
